چکیده

In this article, we carry out the structural analysis of an IS-LM-AS macroeconomic model with adaptive inflation expectations, exploring presence a possible local bifurcation. We prove that is structurally unstable when speed which economic agents adjust their expectations about future equal to inverse semi-elasticity real money demand respect nominal interest rate since periodic solutions are lost parameter suffer any small change, ceteris paribus. Additionally, phase portraits instantaneous change rate, and numerically simulated in ℝ 3 MATLAB for three asymptotically locally stable cases degenerate Hopf Finally, our results show that, specifically, case pure conjugate complex eigenvalues, economy could enter periods inflationary/deflationary spiral greater magnitude balances regardless its initial state.

The Effect of Macroeconomic Shocks on Inflation in Iran: A Vector Autoregressive Approach with Dynamic Parameters

Given the effects of inflation on the decline of household welfare and its impact on production and investment, identifying the factors affecting it in order to adjust inflation and achieve price stability is necessary. Therefore, using the TVP-FAVAR model, which differentiates the fluctuations in factors affecting inflation, we try to identify the effects of different shocks such as liquidity,...

Macroeconomic Impacts of Export Barriers in a Dynamic CGE Model

A large economic literature discusses the implications of export sanctions for a variety of states around the world. This paper investigates the macro-level consequences of imposing oil export barriers on an oil exporting country. We employ a large real financial computable general equilibrium for Iran. The model is calibrated based on 1999 Social Accounting Matrix for the economy of Iran inc...

Monetary Policy Actions, Macroeconomic Data Releases, and Inflation Expectations

concept of inflation compensation. Finally, we provide evidence that Federal Reserve communication and surprises in monetary policy actions bear on the uncertainty surrounding the expected rate of inflation. For one concept of inflation expectations, we find that Federal Reserve communication reduces uncertainty about the future rate of inflation, while surprises in monetary policy actions incr...

Hopf bifurcation in a dynamic IS-LM model with time delay

In this paper we investigate the impact of delayed tax revenues on the fiscal policy outcomes. Choosing the delay as a bi-furcation parameter we study the direction and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions. With respect to the delay we show when the system is stable. Some numerical examples are finally given for justifying the theoretical results.

Macroeconomic Analysis without the Rational Expectations Hypothesis∗

This paper reviews a variety of alternative approaches to the specification of the expectations of economic decisionmakers in dynamic models, and reconsiders familiar results in the theory of monetary and fiscal policy when one allows for departures from the hypothesis of rational expectations. The various approaches are all illustrated in the context of a common model, a log-linearized New Key...
